Martha celebrates a milestone birthday with her family and wonders whether her life has made the difference that she sought to make in this world all those years ago. Falling in love and marrying at a young age, Martha was not aware of gaslighting and its impact until seventeen years and three kids later, when a suicide attempt brought the abuse to the surface. What decision did Martha make to save her family?
Now years later, as Martha takes her four-year-old grandchild, Sydney, to the park, Martha meets Liz, a young woman with two small children. Martha quickly realizes that Liz is in an abusive relationship and tries to help Liz until tragedy strikes.

This book tells a very gut-wrenching true story. It's a brave account of an incredibly strong, courageous woman, who wakes up to the fact that she is in a destructive, abusive marriage. She must make a choice: her life and her kids’ lives, or the wishes of her abuser to destroy her, along with their family. I couldn't put it down.

I couldn't wait to get this book, then I couldn't put it down once I started reading it. Such a harrowing story of the bravery of 1 woman being utterly abused in every way possible and yet finding the courage to get out! Having been in a gaslight marriage myself, I can empathize with all parties in this book. Thank you for sharing your story. May it save the lives of those in similar situations as we found ourselves.
